Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the registering officer shall apply to the District Registrar in Form B for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the District Registrar shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within sixty days of the application.
