Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of a private service vehicle shall apply to the State Transport Authority in Form 4 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the State Transport Authority shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
