Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the custody of the Pay and Accounts Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Government of Uttar Pradesh; and where the Pay and Accounts Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form GFR 12-A within twenty-one days of the succession.
