Safe custody.—Every pilot of a port shall keep every log book to which these rules apply in a receptacle or place reserved for the purpose at the premises where the pilotage of vessels is carried on, shall record in Form 8 the description of every log book so kept and the date on which it was received, and shall furnish a copy of the record to the Conservator of the Port within fourteen days of the close of each year.
