Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the e-return intermediary shall apply to the Assessing Officer in Form 3CD for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Assessing Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within thirty days of the application.
