Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Government of Tamil Nadu in the custody of the Registrar of Births and Deaths, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Government of Tamil Nadu; and where the Registrar of Births and Deaths having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form VII within forty-five days of the succession.
