Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the lessor of immovable property shall apply to the Inspector General of Registration in Form B for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees, and the Inspector General of Registration shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within thirty days of the application.
