Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the occupier shall apply to the appropriate Government in Form VIII for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the appropriate Government shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
