Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of land adjoining an embankment shall apply to the Land Acquisition Officer in Form 4 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees, and the Land Acquisition Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
