Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the person presenting a document for registration shall apply to the Estate Officer in Form 2 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Estate Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within fifteen days of the application.
