Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the policy-holder shall apply to the Council of Insurers in Form IRDA-6 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Council of Insurers shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
