Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the transporter shall apply to the Excise Appellate Authority in Form E for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees, and the Excise Appellate Authority shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within fifteen days of the application.
