Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief in the custody of the Recruiting Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief; and where the Recruiting Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form F within thirty days of the succession.
