Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the District Registrar in the custody of the Marriage Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the District Registrar; and where the Marriage Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form II within twenty-one days of the succession.
