Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Cantonment Board in the custody of the Recruiting Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Cantonment Board; and where the Recruiting Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form H within fifteen days of the succession.
