Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the Marriage Officer shall apply to the Registrar of Marriages in Form VII for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees, and the Registrar of Marriages shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within fourteen days of the application.
