Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Chief Inspector of Mines in the custody of the Mines Surveyor, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Chief Inspector of Mines; and where the Mines Surveyor having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form G within sixty days of the succession.
