Custody of the register.—The register maintained under these rules shall be kept at the office of the Registrar of Marriages in the custody of the Probation Officer, shall be bound and its pages numbered, and shall not be removed from that office except on the written order of the Registrar of Marriages; and where the Probation Officer having custody of it is succeeded by another, an entry recording the transfer of custody shall be made in Form VI within ninety days of the succession.
