Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the overseas citizen of India shall apply to the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer in Form E for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and eighty days of the application.
