Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the tax return preparer shall apply to the Appellate Tribunal in Form 26Q for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees, and the Appellate Tribunal shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
