Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the holder of a Government bond shall apply to the Comptroller and Auditor-General in Form GFR 22 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees, and the Comptroller and Auditor-General shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within one hundred and twenty days of the application.
