Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the driver shall apply to the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal in Form 4 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees, and the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within ninety days of the application.
