Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of a building in a village shall apply to the District Collector in Form 6 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees, and the District Collector shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
