Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the owner of an inland vessel shall apply to the Inland Waterways Authority in Form 8 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Inland Waterways Authority shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
