Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the principal employer shall apply to the appropriate Government in Form 1 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the appropriate Government shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-two days of the application.
