2. Amendment of section 12.—In section 12 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 2000 (Maharashtra Act 16 of 2000) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "fifty thousand rupees", the words "twenty-five lakh rupees" shall be substituted.
