2. Amendment of section 17.—In section 17 of the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998 (Maharashtra Act 20 of 1998) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "one thousand rupees", the words "five thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
