2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "periodical" means any publication, including a newspaper, which is published and printed at regular intervals and contains public news or comments on public news; (b) "Press Registrar" means the Press Registrar General of India appointed under this Act; (c) "film" means a cinematograph film; (d) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (e) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
