2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "workman" means any person employed in any industry to do any manual, unskilled, skilled, technical, operational, clerical or supervisory work for hire or reward, whether the terms of employment be express or implied; (b) "employer" means the person who has ultimate control over the affairs of the establishment; (c) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (d) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
