12. Procedure for the command of a ship.—(1) Every master shall, before undertaking the command of a ship, intimate the Director-General in writing, specifying the ship concerned and the period for which it is proposed to be undertaken. (2) The Director-General may, within ninety days of the receipt of the intimation, require the person to furnish such further particulars as it considers necessary.
