Section 46, Immigration And Foreigner Act, 2025 [S2C-VKR]

46. Registration of foreigners.—(1) Every foreigner shall, within fourteen days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins residence in India after such commencement, within fourteen days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the passport authority in Form C, accompanied by a fee of one thousand five hundred rupees. (2) The passport authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No foreigner shall carry on residence in India unless registered under this section.
