Section 39, Maritime Anti-Piracy Act, 2023 [S2B-EAC]

39. Registration of ports authority.—(1) Every port authority shall, within ninety days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the working of a port after such commencement, within ninety days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Director-General in Form 1, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees. (2) The Director-General shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No port authority shall carry on the working of a port unless registered under this section.
