Section 2, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development Act, 2012 [S26-09G]

2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "institution" means an institution of higher education recognised under section 6; (b) "Commission" means the Commission established under section 3; (c) "degree" means any such degree as may, with the previous approval of the Central Government, be specified in this behalf by the Commission by notification in the Official Gazette; (d) "recognised" means recognised by the Council under section 14; (e) "school" means any recognised school imparting elementary education; (f) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (g) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
