2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "person with disability" means a person with long term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment which, in interaction with barriers, hinders his full and effective participation in society equally with others; (b) "establishment" includes a Government establishment and private establishment; (c) "Chief Commissioner" means the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities appointed under section 74; (d) "appropriate Government" means, in relation to the Central Government or any establishment wholly or substantially financed by that Government, the Central Government; (e) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (f) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
