2. Amendment of section 9.—In section 9 of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Act, 2001 (53 of 2001) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "two lakh rupees", the words "five lakh rupees" shall be substituted.
