2. Amendment of section 31.—In section 31 of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (46 of 1988) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "five lakh rupees", the words "five lakh rupees" shall be substituted.
