Section 18, Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003 [S21-BA2]

18. Registration of records officer.—(1) Every record officer shall, within ninety days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the maintenance of records after such commencement, within ninety days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Central Information Commission in Form A, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees. (2) The Central Information Commission shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No record officer shall carry on the maintenance of records unless registered under this section.
