2. Amendment of section 44.—In section 44 of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (33 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "sixty days", the words "ninety days" shall be substituted.
