42. Maintenance of records and furnishing of returns.—(1) Every shopkeeper in a village market shall maintain such records and registers relating to the keeping of a shop in a village market as may be prescribed and shall preserve them for a period of five years. (2) Every shopkeeper in a village market shall furnish to the Gram Panchayat a return in Form 1 within sixty days from the end of every financial year, and such other information as the Gram Panchayat may, by order in writing, require.
