11. Procedure for the import of goods.—(1) Every importer shall, before undertaking the import of goods, intimate the Director General in writing, specifying the importer-exporter code concerned and the period for which it is proposed to be undertaken. (2) The Director General may, within sixty days of the receipt of the intimation, require the person to furnish such further particulars as it considers necessary.
