Section 32, Emigration Act, 1983 [S1S-J86]

32. Registration of citizens.—(1) Every citizen shall, within thirty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins travel abroad after such commencement, within thirty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the passport authority in Form S, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees. (2) The passport authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No citizen shall carry on travel abroad unless registered under this section.
