2. Amendment of section 44.—In section 44 of the State Associated Banks (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1962 (56 of 1962) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "fifty thousand rupees", the words "twenty-five lakh rupees" shall be substituted.
