Section 46, Newspapers (Price Control) Act, 1972 [S1N-94J]

46. Registration of publishers.—(1) Every publisher shall, within thirty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the publication of a periodical after such commencement, within thirty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Press Registrar in Form II, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees. (2) The Press Registrar shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No publisher shall carry on the publication of a periodical unless registered under this section.
