Section 39, Passports Act, 1967 [S1K-45M]

39. Registration of passports holder.—(1) Every passport holder shall, within ninety days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the holding of a passport after such commencement, within ninety days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the passport authority in Form A, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees. (2) The passport authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No passport holder shall carry on the holding of a passport unless registered under this section.
