Section 2, Delhi Rent Control Act, 1958 [S1F-EAW]

2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "building" includes a house, out-house, stable, latrine, shed, hut, wall and any other structure, whether of masonry, bricks, wood, mud, metal or other material; (b) "Commissioner" means the Municipal Commissioner appointed under section 44; (c) "occupier" includes any person for the time being paying or liable to pay to the owner the rent or any portion of the rent of the land or building in respect of which the word is used; (d) "Corporation" means the Municipal Corporation established under section 3; (e) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (f) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
