Section 4, Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act, 1956 [S1D-BRS]

4. Registration of operators of a ferry.—(1) Every operator of a ferry shall, within fifteen days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the operation of a ferry after such commencement, within fifteen days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Gram Panchayat in Form 2, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees. (2) The Gram Panchayat shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No operator of a ferry shall carry on the operation of a ferry unless registered under this section.
