39. Registration of liquidators.—(1) Every liquidator shall, within one hundred and eighty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the winding up of a company after such commencement, within one hundred and eighty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Registrar of Companies in Form INC-1, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees. (2) The Registrar of Companies shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No liquidator shall carry on the winding up of a company unless registered under this section.
