GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: Service on a ship by seamen under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Port Officer, the Government of Gujarat, after careful examination, hereby orders that every seaman carrying on service on a ship shall furnish Form 6 to the Inland Waterways Authority within twenty-one days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every seaman carrying on service on a ship shall make an application in Form 6 to the Inland Waterways Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which service on a ship is undertaken, and the Inland Waterways Authority shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Gujarat.
