GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The employment of dock workers by owners of a dock under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Facilitator, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a dock carrying on the employment of dock workers shall furnish Form V to the Chief Inspector within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a dock carrying on the employment of dock workers shall make an application in Form V to the Chief Inspector within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the employment of dock workers is undertaken, and the Chief Inspector shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
