GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: Mining within a forest area by owners of a mine within a forest under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Assistant Conservator of Forests, the Government of Kerala, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a mine within a forest carrying on mining within a forest area shall furnish Form VII to the Government of Kerala within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a mine within a forest carrying on mining within a forest area shall make an application in Form VII to the Government of Kerala within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which mining within a forest area is undertaken, and the Government of Kerala shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Kerala.
